Help Your Patients Reach Their Health Goals and Achieve Results With You
It’s hard to stay in touch with patients beyond the appointment. Connect them to a support community with professionals, workshops, and a sisterhood to recover from food addition and/or a dysfunctional relationship with food. Consider us a support team for your patients.
I tell patients who have had or in the process to have Bariatric surgery that they operate on your stomach and not your head. Overcoming the emotional struggles around eating habits is challenging and emotionally painful. During the surgery process patients receive lots of education to prepare, however, there is a lack of helping them figure out the “how” this big change fits into their lives forever. The Soul Sisters United community meets this need by having the tools & knowledge to walk with these women, understand them, and help them figure out the “how” to make the behavior changes necessary to have long term success and find peace within it.

I have personally witnessed the significant impact that the weekly group support sessions have on the women who show up and share where they are at in their journey. The safe and confidential environment has allowed a space for open and vulnerable discussions of challenges without fear of judgement. Every struggle is acknowledged, every voice is heard, every experience is validated and every win is celebrated.

It feels very good to be a part of this growing community. It’s a really unusual space—in that it isn’t espousing a particular diet, or preaching a mindset—rather it’s a very safe, warm and welcoming group where members are encouraged to share what’s on their hearts and minds. In a society filled with “perfect” bodies and lives on Facebook and Instagram, this community gives an opportunity for women to be real; to be seen, heard and understood.
